Beans Toor Dal Poriyal - South Indian Style

INGREDIENTS:
Beans one bunch
Toor Dal - ¼ cup
Mustard - 1 tsp
Curry leaf - 3 to 4
Salt for taste
Cooking oil


Ingredients for grinding
Chili - 3 nos
Garlic - 2 nos
Coconut - 3 tbsp
Turmeric - 1 tsp
Cumin/Geera - 1 tsp



PREPARATIONS

  1. Cook the toor dal in cooker for two whistles. Should not be over cooked.
  2. Cut the beans into small pieces.
  3. Heat some oil in a pan, put mustard into the oil and allow it to splatter.
  4. The put the sliced beans keep sorting for 2 to 3 mins, then into it add the cooked dal and little water.
  5. Close the pan and cook it for 4 to 5 mins. But keep sorting in between.
  6. Grind all the grinding ingredients (Chili, Garlic, Coconut, Turmeric, and Cumin/Geera) together once. Please take care not to make it paste.
  7. Put the grind mix into the pan, add enough salt and if required add little water.
  8. Close the lid and cook it till the beans is cooked soft.
  9. Once the beans is cooked garnish it with curry leaf.
