Sweet Pongal | Sakkarai Pongal | Chakkara Pongal



















INGREDIENTS:
Rice - 2 cups
Jaggery - 500 gms
Cashew Nut - 10 to 12 (any dry fruit)
Ghee - 100 gms


PREPARATIONS


  1. Cook the rice slightly over cooked.
  2. Break jaggery into small pieces and add jaggery directly into the rice. If not add melted jaggery.
  3. Cook it in low flame till the jaggery get blended with the rice. Once done add ghee and mix it nicely.
  4. Garnish it with nuts. To make it more tasty slightly fry the dry nuts in ghee.



How To melt Jaggery

  1. Break jaggery into small pieces.
  2. Heat a pan, put the jaggery pieces and add little water.
  3. Keep stirring till all the jaggery pieces get  melted.
  4. To remove the residues in jaggery, filter the melted jaggery.
