Tomato Chutney | Thakkali Chutney










This delicacy is from southern part for Indian. It can has for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Very tasty and easy to  make.


INGREDIENTS:
Medium size rice or basmati rice- 1 cup
Lemon juice - 1/2 lemon
Mustard - 1 tsp
Chana Dal - 1 tsp
Red Chilli - 3 to 4 small
Roasted Peanut - 1/4 cup
Curry leaves - 7 to 8 numbers
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt for taste
Cooking oil


PREPARATIONS


  1. Cook the rice with 2 cups of water. Make sure the rice is not mushy, the grains should be separate.
  2. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.
  3. Once the mustard start splattering, now add chana dal, roasted peanut, red Chilli and curry leafs.
  4. Saute for 2 to 3 mins and then add turmeric powder into it.
  5. Add this to the rice along with the lemon juice and enough salt, and mix it well.
